In the competitive world of beauty salons, staying ahead often means adapting to changing consumer needs and market trends. For Zoë Wilde, owner of Tuesday Skin in New Zealand, this meant embracing innovation through membership subscriptions offered via aglow, a Beauty Membership platform based in Sydney. What began as a leap of faith in 2023 has since revolutionised her business model.

Wilde's journey with aglow memberships has been nothing short of remarkable. Within the first six months of implementation, she witnessed a staggering $100k increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR), all thanks to just 41 memberships. The key? Providing clients with flexible prepaid payment options, as low as $12.31 weekly, amidst a backdrop of rising living costs that have affected consumer spending habits.

The beauty of aglow memberships lies in their ability to democratise beauty treatments. By spreading the cost over manageable weekly payments, Wilde has made her services more accessible to a broader demographic. For individuals grappling with financial constraints, maintaining their beauty regimen no longer feels like a luxury but a feasible commitment. Moreover, the subscription model has given Wilde the beauty of recurring revenue and the ability to forecast and know what her business will generate each month. This foresight empowers her to purchase new advanced equipment and hire new staff members, with the confidence that her cashflow supports these investments.

Speaking on the impact of memberships, Wilde emphasises the newfound accessibility her clients appreciate. "More and more clients are joining up, making it more affordable for them," she shares. The memberships offer a comprehensive package, including a set number of treatments per year, VIP discounts on products and advanced skin treatments, priority booking, and even a complimentary birthday facial.

Wilde originally studied to become a registered nurse, but eventually, she circled back to beauty as a cosmetic injector. "I want to build a skin empire," she declares, expressing her desire to expand her reach across Northland and elevate the standard of beauty services in her area.

Zoë Wilde's success story serves as a beacon of inspiration as the beauty industry continues to evolve. Through innovative strategies like membership subscriptions, entrepreneurs can navigate challenges, cater to a diverse clientele, and ultimately thrive in an ever-changing landscape.
