NZ Skin Clinic Thrives with Membership Model amid Cost-of-Living Crisis

Despite New Zealand's cost-of-living crisis, Erin Ayling's Golden Hour Skin clinic in Palmerston North is thriving.

Ayling, an aesthetician and certified acne specialist, attributes this success to aglow Beauty Memberships, which allow clients to pay for treatments in manageable weekly instalments starting at $20.68. This model has boosted revenue and made premium skincare accessible.

Founded three years ago, Golden Hour Skin offers personalised medi-aesthetic treatments. Ayling's own acne struggles inspired her to specialise in medical-grade skincare. "I wanted a space that felt comfortable and tailored to everyone," Ayling said.

"I struggled with my own skin for years, so that's what led me here."

Client demand and efficient payment management led Ayling to offer aglow memberships. "I didn't have time to manage payments, but when I heard about aglow, I was sold," she explained.

The personalised membership plans are popular with clients. This approach has resonated well, offering convenience and affordability.

"We get people in for a consultation, figure out what they want, and tailor a plan to fit them,"

The steady cash flow from memberships has enabled Ayling to invest in new equipment and plan for expansion. "We're expanding because my books are getting too full. I'm looking at a new space to hire more staff," she announced.

"It works out better for me and the client because they're paying before they come in,"

The memberships promote consistent treatments and better results, and have allowed clients to maintain their beauty regimens despite financial pressures, paying in smaller instalments instead of large upfront costs.

Ayling's commitment to personalised care and innovative strategies has driven Golden Hour Skin's success, even during economic challenges.
